Course Details:

Managers are motivated to consider making business investments for various reasons including upgrading or replacing assets, expansion, the need to reduce costs or as a reaction to external factors such as a change in legislation. Often, however, these investment decisions are irreversible and costly in themselves to instigate. Being able to choose between different investment options is a key requirement to ensure the best outcome given the company's unique situation.

This course provides learners with the concepts and tools they need to both submit a proposal for investment as well as make informed decisions based on the proposals of others.

(This course concerns decisions about investing in the activities of your business as opposed to investing in the financial securities of another business).

There are 3 modules:
  1. The Decision-Making Process - Evaluating proposals for further investment in your business
  2. CVP Analysis - A technique to analyse the expected short-term impact of an investment decision
  3. Project Appraisal Techniques - Assess the feasibility and long-term benefits of a project
This course forms part of the PrimeFinance curriculum from Prime Learning

Learning Outcomes :

  • Describe the three stages of the investment decision-making process
  • Conduct a CVP analysis on a proposed project
  • Use project appraisal techniques to determine a project's viability

* Excludes official 3rd party assessment costs for qualifications
